Hi! I’m Sarah, a photographer from the beautiful borders of Staffordshire and Cheshire. Being a photographer is…
the absolute best job for me! I’m in such a lucky position that I get to meet different people and tell their stories with my camera. Whether it’s the story of a passionate business owner with brand and product photography, or capturing beautiful moments between families and getting to watch them grow over the years, I couldn’t ask for more.
I’m married to Rob, my best friend, supporter, fixer of broken things and lover of curry. We have two beautiful, fun and very strong minded little boys. There is almost 5 years between them but their birthdays are only a day apart and I’m still not sure if this was great or terrible timing.
Before I decided to work for myself, I spent nearly 10 years as a studio based product photographer and photo editor. Things changed for me though after my eldest son was diagnosed autistic when he was just 3 years old. My job was no longer bringing me any happiness and after much soul searching I knew I needed to work for myself, to have the freedom to be there for my children as well as trying to make photography a more inclusive experience for others.
I really enjoy the variation that branding shoots bring, meeting new people and working in different environments is never boring. I still like to work in studios too, it’s a creative space that I absolutely love. Planning, styling and shooting products, getting to work closely with talented, enthusiastic and innovative business owners. This is my roots and it still brings me joy after all these years.
Meeting families and getting to tell their stories is a newer part of what I do. I get so much out of capturing moments of love and happiness, making memories from the little things in life. I like to show authentic and unposed bonds between families. Being a more environmental photographer means I can be more accessible to everyone’s needs. Being part of an autism spectrum family myself, I love to support all kinds of diverse families. At home, in your garden or out on an adventure in the woods, I want everyone to be able to have meaningful memories.
